Earthseed Praxis: Collective Study for Survival and Liberation
For Black Folks
Oct 22, 2025 - Jan 28, 2026 (12 weeks - break on Nov 26, Dec 24 & 31)
4-6 PM PT | 7-9 PM ET
Why Now:
As our world faces ongoing climate catastrophe, political violence, and attacks on queer, trans, and Black futures, Octavia E. Butler’s Parable series feels less like fiction and more like prophecy. This study circle is an invitation to gather with others who are ready to learn from Butler’s visionary work—not as escapism, but as a map for building new worlds rooted in care, interdependence, and resistance. We will explore abolitionist and liberatory themes such as community-led survival, mutual aid, and the power of shaping change rather than reacting to it. In a time when oppressive systems are actively erasing our stories and bodies, Butler’s words remind us that we have the power to write the future ourselves.
